  1. i remember those dresses (as well as the ciggies)–polyester was starting to come in. I had a friend in South Africa (when i lived there) who worked for S.A. Fabrics and she designed fabrics. It gave her the biggest thrill when she would be downtown Durban and all of a sudden she would see one of her fabrics walking towards her. I remember going into the factory where they wove the fabrics–just amazing watching these huge looms working away. It meant nothing to me at the time, but now when i am weaving, i remember Sue, sitting at the dining room table with graph paper making another design. ah, memories. thanks Bob.
