  1. I think the reason we built RTG was that there were no portables available and they wanted to bus some of our younger kids to Union Bay . It was Tim Biggins who said “what if we build you a classroom” at a meeting with the school board and they kind of laughed it off at first but they didn’t know this community. It was done in a summer and ready to go for the first day of school, once again mainly by volunteer labour. The school board paid rent on that building for many years and our PTA did pretty well with money for school projects.

  2. We had a portable again in 1989 or ’90? while the school got its extra classrooms built. (120 students!) That portable sat right on the corner, lined up with Central Road, if I remember correctly. And Room to Grow was in use also.

  3. Thanks Bob, this really shows what it looked like. We can do it again but sad we have too. Annie

  4. Was thinking it will be so very de ja vu when the kids are in Room To Grow and portables. Why we built Room To Grow, so our kids wouldn’t have to be in portables… hope it would to long for this group.
