1973-We loaded the gravel in the pit in Strachan Valley then drove all the way to past Pete’s corner to dump.

Pete was the guy that built the cardboard¬†house(or at least finished it in cardboard). He was what we called then a “remittance man’ and got money from his parents and family in England to not go home.

You could spot him occasionally¬†working on the cardboard covering of his house. The sharp uphill curve just past his place was called ‘Pete’s Corner’.
